Law Firm PPC Agency

1400% ROAS from a Google Ads campaign?

Yup, that’s possible.

That happened to our client, Tom. Tom went from barely any leads… to 15 signed cases within the first month of launching our Google Ads campaign. All that with just a $2997/mo ad spend.

You may have heard me on….

Most law firm PPC agencies will tell you that to get the best results, you have to increase your ad budget

(A convenient approach since that also increases their fees.)

But most of the time, the problem isn’t your ad budget. It’s your messaging.

If the copy doesn’t make your readers feel understood, no amount of money can get your campaign to perform the way you want it to.

After all, you know more than anyone…

When prospective clients land on your website, they’re not just looking for a lawyer.

They’re looking for someone who understands what they’re going through. Someone who will listen to them. Answer their questions. And hold their hand throughout the process.

They don’t care about the millions that you’ve gotten for other clients. Or the fact that your firm has 20 years of experience.

They care about how you can help them get through the difficult situation they’re in.

And *that’s* where 99% of law firm PPC campaigns miss the mark.

Most agencies see messaging as an afterthought

They don’t have trained copywriters on staff. And they don’t do the voice-of-client research to find out WHO your ideal client is (and how to craft copy that will make them think “Yes! THIS is the lawyer I need”).

So you end up with messaging that falls flat.

It doesn’t address your prospects’ pain points, hesitations, and motivations in the hiring process.

It doesn’t highlight your firm’s unique differentiators (the reason why prospective clients should choose YOU over competitors).

And most importantly, it doesn’t connect with your ideal audience.

So even if prospects fill out the form on your website, there’s a good chance they won’t pick up the phone when your team calls.

If they do, they’ll probably forget who you are (and how your firm is different from all the other firms they contacted).

Or they’ll take up your team’s precious time asking questions like “how does the process work?” or “what are the next steps?”

(Questions that could be answered on your landing page.)

All of this translates to lower quality leads and a higher cost per client acquisition. Forcing you to spend more just to stay in the game.

What if instead…

You could get a 15X ROAS from your ad campagn (compared to the industry average of 4X)?

That happened with one of my former clients (Tom).

Tom is a civil rights lawyer who helps women who have been sexually harassed by their landlords.

Before we started working together, Tom had spent $18k on a marketing agency that delivered… one lead. He had a bit more success on his own, but the leads coming in weren’t high quality (they wouldn’t pick up the phone when he called).

When he hired me and my team, I asked him what an ideal outcome would be. He said that if he were to get 3-5 signed cases per month, that would be considered “crazy, wild, wonderful success.”

Well…

Within the first month of launching the campaign, Tom had gotten 15 signed cases. With just a $2997 ad budget.

And that wasn’t a fluke. Those results continued over the course of the year that we worked together.

The campaign brought in so many leads that Tom had to hire more people to keep up with the volume. He even asked to turn OFF the Google Ads because he and his team couldn’t keep up with things.

Because these weren’t just any ol’ leads. These were highly qualified leads that were SO eager to hire Tom, they felt “betrayed” when he didn’t take on their case. All thanks to the messaging.

How do we know?

We ran a thank-you page survey (great way to gather VOC btw) and these were some of the responses to the question “why did you choose our law firm in particular?”

👉“Feeling understood after researching your firm online”

👉“After searching on Google the message on your homepage made me feel like I made the right choice”

👉“Thought you seemed like you would fight for me”

👉“Researched others and you explained exactly how I felt”

👉“Everything you stated in this ad is exactly what I’m dealing with 10000%”

👉“You know what I’ve been through, you might as well be describing the hell I went through and am still in…”

And you want to know the craziest thing of all?

We didn’t have a SINGLE testimonial on that landing page. We barely even mentioned the results that my client had gotten for his other clients.

We didn’t need to. Because the messaging resonated with prospects and made them feel like they had found a friend in my client. And that’s what mattered.

Introducing…

The Click-to-Client Framework™

Our proprietary 9-step framework that helps law firms (yup, you guessed it) turn clicks into signed cases.

  • We’ll kick things off with one-on-one 60-minute Messaging Intensive calls. One with you and separate ones with other key members of your team (like your intake specialists).

These calls will help us understand your firm, process, story and unique differentiators. While also getting a clear picture of your target audience.

  • This is THE most important step – and one that most agencies skip.

My team and I will go waaay beyond surface-level data, digging DEEP to fully understand your prospect – along with their deep-seated pain points, motivations, hesitations in the hiring process.

    This might include:

    • Interviewing 3-5 of your clients

    • Mining online communities (like Reddit, Facebook, etc) where your ideal clients vent frustrations, ask for advice, and reveal hiring objections

    • Analyzing your testimonials to pinpoint common themes in what clients appreciate most (and how we can amplify those strengths)

    • Reviewing intake forms, surveys, and past communications with clients to understand recurring pain points, decision-making patterns, and deal-breakers

    • Listening in on intake call recordings to hear prospects' objections, questions, and concerns in their own words

    • Assessing competitor positioning to identify gaps in the market and craft messaging that sets your firm apart

This deep-dive research ensures that our ad strategy and copy is built on what we KNOW will resonate with your audience… rather than guessing (or asking ChatGPT).

  • Once we’ve done the research, we’ll whip out our magnifying glass and analyze the findings. Looking for trends, commonalities and sticky words or phrases that we can use in the copy.

  • Next, we’ll pull everything together into your very own two-part Conversion Copy Playbook.

You’ll get everything you and your team need to craft high-converting copy in the future:

✅ A comprehensive analysis of your target audience (to ensure your messaging hits the mark)

✅ A complete guide to positioning your service and offer in a way that resonates deeply with your ideal clients

  • Based on the VOC research, we’ll determine the most effective ad strategy and funnel for your campaign. Taking into account things like:

    • What platform(s) will be most effective

    • When the ads should appear

    • What keyword strategy to use (likely a mix of high-intent, long-tail, and branded keywords to target searchers at different stages of the hiring journey)

    • The type of ad formats to prioritize (ie: text, video, carousel, or responsive ads)

    • Targeting criteria (defining our audience based on demography, geography, and behavior)

    • Budget allocation and bid strategy (setting the right daily budgets and bid strategies to optimize ad spend and performance)

Once we determine the ad strategy, then we’ll know what deliverables we need for the campaign.

For example, maybe we’ll decide that Google is the best platform to advertise on since there are leads actively searching for your solution. Based on that, we’ll come up with landing pages that are tailored to what people are searching for.

Let’s say you’re a personal injury attorney. If we find that people are searching for things like “slip and fall attorney near me ” then we can create a landing page tailored to that specific audience.

  • Next I’ll take charge of crafting allllll the messaging for the campaign. Which will include:

    • Ad copy that grabs attention, speaks to your ideal prospect’s pain points and drives high-intent traffic

    • Landing page copy that encourages website visitors to fill out that form/schedule a consultation

    • Email sequence (if applicable) that builds trust, handles objections, and encourages prospects to pick up the phone when your team calls

Each piece of messaging for the funnel will take into account things like:

    Voice-of-client research that we’ve done

We’ll use the VOC research and messaging docs we’ve pulled together to craft the copy. Mirroring your audience’s pain points, dream states, hesitations and motivations back to them.

    Messaging hierarchy

We’ll map out the most effective order of the messages on the landing page (and email sequence) based on what’s most important to the reader, how they process information and where they are in the decision-making journey.

Persuasion techniques that move the reader to the “yes”

We’ll use tactics that are PROVEN to motivate people to take action. Things like urgency/scarcity, storytelling, loss aversion and social proof… to name a few.

    ✅ Formatting & readability

We’ll structure the page so that it’s easy for even the most distracted readers to consume. With:

    • Short, scannable sections

    • Strategic use of bolding, bullet points and (lots of) white space

    • Small margins

Positioning your firm as THE best choice

We’ll nail down your unique value proposition…. so that it’s crystal clear why prospects should pick your firm over all the others.

    Your client criteria

We’ll clarify who your service is for (and who it’s not for). So you can attract the right clients to your firm.

    CTAs & next steps

We’ll guide the reader to take the next step with:

    • Value-driven CTAs (not just “Submit” or “Fill out the form”)

    • Zero-friction next steps (for example… having a super simple form with only the most essential questions… and letting people know what happens once they click that button)

  • Once the copy is complete (and approved), we’ll move onto the design.

We’ll use easy-to-read font and images that complement the copy. But we want to steer clear of generic stock images… or anxiety-inducing images.

For example, for your dog bite page, we definitely do not want to have an image of a rabid-looking dog. That’s only going to make your reader more anxious than they already are.

Instead, we could go with a smiling photo of you or one of your attorneys. Or another photo that will put people at ease.

  • Once everything is in place, it’s time to go live. Woohoo!

    But first, we’ll want to:

✅ Set up conversion tracking  (so we know exactly what’s working and what’s not)

✅ Test all integrations (making sure that forms, lead tracking and automation work)

Then we’ll monitor ad performance. Keeping a close eye on click-through rates, conversions, and (most importantly) lead quality.

  • After we have one month of data to go off of, we’ll start A/B testing (to see what brings in the highest quality leads… at the lowest cost).

Here are some things we might A/B test:

    • Ad headlines (and positioning)

    • Landing page headlines

    • Calls to action

    • Forms (testing out different lengths)

    • Type of content (video vs text vs static images)

We’ll also test out different bidding strategies and keyword types to see what’s most effective.

Wait a sec. I haven’t introduced myself yet. How rude!

Hey, I’m Mary. Founder & CEO of Thryve Legal Marketing. And Chief Ad Strategist.

Over the past 4+ years, my team and I have helped countless law firms transform their businesses with paid ads. Ads that don’t just drive traffic… they convert on-the-fence prospects into signed cases.

How?

Instead of guessing what works (or copying competitors), we do the hard work upfront.

We start by researching your target audience to find out what they really care about… what keeps them up at 3AM…. and what gets them to say “YES.”

So you walk away with a tailored ad strategy. And messaging that:

  • Speaks your ideal client’s lingo (using the words and phrases that they use)

  • Responds to your prospects’ deep-seated pain points, fears, hesitations, desires and motivations in the decision-making process

  • Relies on persuasion techniques and behavioral psychology (so that even the most skeptical prospects feel compelled to take action)

  • Positions your law firm as the very BEST firm for them

(And most importantly..)

  • Generates more qualified leads and signed cases for your firm

“Mary is very deliberate, professional, and methodical in her process. That process delivered unbelievable results for us where everything else had failed.

We had used one marketing vendor and our own skills to attempt to generate a steady flow of a certain kind of lead. We were fairly unsuccessful. The vendor charged us almost $20,000 and delivered one lead. Our own efforts were more successful by far, but not consistent.

Mary is very deliberate, professional, and methodical in her process. That process delivered unbelievable results for us where everything else had failed.

Mary got us results beyond what anyone else could deliver and beyond our business's capacity to keep up; and that's just on the trial budget. We have more leads and more conversions than we'd frankly dreamed possible. I had a discussion with my partner today about expanding our hiring and taking on debt to meet the extra business.

We signed about 15 new cases in one month. A great result would have been 3. A fantastic result would have been 5. These results are on track to change our business completely.

“The initial feedback from the website is [better] than it’s ever been"

So why should you hire us over big shots like Lawrank and Scorpion?

We can think of a few reasons…

You’ll get hands-on support from the people managing your campaign

When you work with a big agency, you’re sold by one person, managed by another and sometimes you don’t even speak to the person who manages your campaign.

With us, you’ll work directly with the people responsible for your results (aka me and my team).

We take your results to heart

Bigger agencies don’t need to prove themselves (because everyone already trusts them). So they can screw up a campaign here and there and it won’t really make a difference for them.

With us, every campaign and every client puts our reputation on the line. Your results matter… because our survival depends on it.

Tap the button above to schedule your free, no-obligation consultation.

We can pivot quickly

Big agencies move sloooow.

Want to tweak your landing page headline? You gotta email 3 different people and wait a week for “internal review.”

Need to launch a campaign fast? Nothing moves forward until five different people give it the okay.

With us, things move much faster. ‘Cause you’re working directly with the people managing your campaign. No account managers or middlemen.

“Ok, so why should I pick you over other smaller legal marketing agencies?

We can think of a few reasons for that too…

We’re the only law firm PPC agency that specializes in conversion copywriting

We craft messaging based on behavior psychology and VOC research. Messaging that taps into your ideal client’s mindset, answers their unspoken objections, and motivates them to take (immediate) action.

The result?

More leads that convert into signed cases (not just form fills).

Our research-driven approach means we’re able to get way better results

Why?

Because it allows us to craft an ad strategy and messaging based on what we know will resonate with your target audience — rather than just guessing. Or doing what has worked with other clients.

Your ROAS is the only metric we care about

Unlike other agencies, we don’t care about vanity metrics like clicks or impressions. Heck, we don’t even care about conversions.

We care about one thing and one thing only:

Your ROAS.

That’s why we’ll check in with you weekly on lead quality and signed cases.

‘Cause if your caseload isn’t growing, none of the work we’re doing matters.

Many firms hesitate to invest in paid ads because they don’t know if it will be as cost-effective as other client acquisition strategies (like referrals)

They might be concerned about spending money on low-quality leads that don’t convert. Or long, drawn-out investigations that drive the cost per case up.

And those are valid concerns. But here are a few things to keep in mind:

Unlike traditional marketing, Google Ads puts your firm in front of people actively searching for a lawyer —making them far more likely to convert

Our research-driven approach allows us to attract higher-quality cases from the get-go. Reducing the time your team has to spend on intake calls and investigations… and lowering the overall cost per case.

We’ll continually optimize the campaign to filter out low-quality leads (so that every dollar is well spent).

Still got questions? Cool.

Let’s see if we can answer ‘em.

1. How long does it take to see results?

We can’t make any promises (any agency that does is full of it!). But most of our clients start to see results immediately. From there, it’s a matter of optimizing the campaign to ensure we’re bringing in the highest quality leads possible.

2. How often can I expect to hear from you?

We’ll send weekly updates on how the campaign is performing. We’ll also add you to our Slack channel where we’ll discuss optimizations to the campaign.

3. Will I be locked into a long contract?

Nope! We recommend an initial 3-month commitment. Not to lock you in, but because that’s the minimum time we need to test and optimize the campaign. After that, you’re free to continue month-to-month.

We want you to stay because YOU want to stay (and are happy with the results). Not because you’re stuck in some contract.

Turn $10,000 into $30,000 (or more)

According to Entrepreneur.com, the average ROI for law firms on Google Ads is 200%.

And that’s average. Our research-driven approach means that we can (and likely will) achieve *way* more than that.

(Case in point: We got Tom a 1400% ROI.)

So the real question is… would you spend $10,000 to make $140,000+?

If the answer is yes, let’s talk. Tap the button below to book a 20-minute Discovery Call and we’ll show you how we can get those kind of results for your firm.
